Loughs Agency works to sustainably manage, protect and develop the fisheries and marine resources of the Foyle and Carlingford catchments. Its remit covers a vast area of more than 4,500 square kilometres, taking in every lough, river and waterway within it.
Established under the Good Friday / Belfast Agreement in 1998 as one of the North South Implementation Bodies, Loughs Agency operates across the UK and Irish jurisdictions. Within CALM, it leads on river restoration, nature-based solutions and community engagement across the Finn, Quiggery and Routing Burn catchments.
